The Transitions: The Transitions Project was developed in response to conversations with the Ministry of Education and local community leaders. The main aim of the project is that young people from remote communities in Cusco (Andes Mountains) and Loreto (Amazon rainforest) are prepared for and have the capabilities needed for the next phase of their lives.
We focus on developing personal capabilities and cultural identity, broadening knowledge about options after school, environmental issues, and personal relationships and gender issues, as well as strengthening young people’s resilience.
The Transitions Project

We are always open to extend our network of partners where we can mutually collaborate with eachother. We would like to be able to share what we are doing with the communities in Peru on an international scale and find overlaps with other organisations and individuals working in similar fields.

Fiorela (19) lives in the district of Ccorca with her mother, who runs a small shop and raises sheep and guinea pigs. This year, she completed the second year of her accounting degree. Her goal is to complete her degree, specialise and eventually open her own accounting firm and beauty business. In her own words: ´It has been tough to adapt to university life, but I’ve learnt that we have to work to overcome all the challenges we face, in order to achieve our dreams´.
